Air conditioning

Air con that works as hard as you do.

If your vehicle’s air con system isn’t working properly, we can quickly get it back up and running.

More than 10% of the air conditioning gas escapes from the system every year, reducing its efficiency and impeding how it works.

Manufacturers recommend that air con systems are recharged with gas and lubricant every two years. This isn’t part of routine vehicle servicing, so if your vehicle is more than two years old it is probably due a recharge. Systems that aren’t fully charged are less effective and have to work harder.

We offer a complete air conditioning recharge service, and we can also clear the bacterial build-up from within the system, removing unpleasant odours and improving efficiency.

Getting hot under the collar?

Air conditioning in a vehicle works in the same way as a domestic fridge. Both use compressors to pump refrigerant gas around, but a fridge sits somewhere safe, with its cooling mechanism out of harm’s way.

That isn’t always the case in your car. A key part of the system, the condenser, works much like the radiator, but it has to sit where it’s exposed to cooling air rushing under the front of the car, which makes it prone to stone chips and impact damage.

There are plenty of other places the gas can leak from. Over time, seals can become brittle and porous, hoses can split and stress fractures can develop in metal tubing, all of which make your system work less efficiently and eventually fail.

If you’ve noticed a change in how your air conditioning performs, we can quickly identify and fix the problem.
